Sine Nomine "For All the Saints"
The tune for this song was written and published by Ralph Vaughan Williams in 1906.
My high school choir performed this at the 1962 spring concert, I was in the tenor section.
The song has six verses. Here are the lyrics for the three verses I played:
For all the saints who from their labors rest,
who Thee by faith before the world confessed;
Thy name, O Jesus, be forever blest.
Alleluia, Alleluia!
And when the strife is fierce, the warfare long,
steals on the ear the distant triumph song,
and hearts are brave again, and arms are strong.
Alleluia, Alleluia!
But then there breaks a still more glorious day:
the saints triumphant rise in bright array;
the King of glory passes on His way.
Alleluia, Allelui...

"Clayton's Grand March" by C.D. Blake, 1877

I played this piece at my high school baccalaureate 60 years ago in 1964. A few days later, I was asked to play it as a processional for the 8th grade graduation ceremony at our local grade school. The piano is a Kawai ES110. Instead of using a microphone, I patched a cord between the piano line-out and the camera line-in.

Played in a city park in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I'm slowly working my way to my sister's home in Northern New York State where we will play a concert at her church next month, middle of May 2024. Playing/practicing is a challenge in this muggy heat compared to what I'm used to back home near Seattle. I'm still making progress in spite of sweaty, sticky fingers. 😀

Debbie and I loved traveling in our 2008 Roadtrek 210P, a small motorhome. Now that Debbie has passed, it was bigger than I like, so I turned my Honda Odyssey minivan into a travel vehicle. It gets about 25mpg on roadtrips instead of the Roadtrek's 12mpg. It's far easier to drive in the city and in mountain passes at night in stormy weather. It also fits through all fast-food drive-throughs, wh...

(Hotlinks to the 7 choir pieces are listed below.) On 12/11/2023, my granddaughter's 2nd grade class presented their Winter Concert, "Our House is a Holiday House." Actually, the choir was made up of all the students from the five 2nd grade classes in the school. Music teacher Sabrina O 'Malley is truly awesome! For the last song, the music accompaniment track failed a few bars into the introdu...

Onward Christian Soldiers - piano duet
Просмотров 22310 месяцев назад
This is the second time my sister Jeanette Simonini and I have played a piano duet together. The music for Onward Christian Soldiers was written in 1871 by Arthur Sullivan, of the Gilbert & Sullivan duo who produced many popular operettas in the mid 1800's. The song is not about marching off to a war against our religious enemies, but against the forces of evil that would undermine our faith. W...

The Old Rugged Cross, written in 1913 by George Bennard. This piece is played on an 1879 Clough & Warren pump organ. Pumping the foot pedals creates a vacuum that draws air over the reeds, causing them to "sing" when a note is pressed. Uploaded on Easter Sunday 2023.
Silverton to Durango

This train ride was during the last road trip my dad and I went on In August 2017, a few months before he passed. Dad got on the train in Silverton, CO and I picked him up in Durango. After that we went to the Diamond Belle Saloon for supper. A friend was playing piano there. At my request, he played "Whispering," a piece Mom used to play frequently. Fun memories!

Fantastic tutorial.
This was so much fun! Those Hamiltons sounded so good too!
Found it creepy!😂
O say can you see, by the dawn’s early light, What so proudly we hail’d at the twilight’s last gleaming, Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight O’er the ramparts we watch’d were so gallantly streaming? And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there, O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
Really nice seeing you playing again. Great stuff, Tom !
Wonderful, Tom!
First watched this video in the summer of 2018, just remembered it now, and enjoying just as i did back then. Thanks
Wonderfully played, nice touch.
Thanks Michael! :)

Thank you. Hope this message finds you well. I avoided the four jaw for a year since leaving school... unfortunately I can no longer avoid it and am easily frustrated by the dial indicator and making the correct adjustments...

I learned this for a yearly concert my music teacher put on. I've lost the book. Can't get this music on Amazon. Any suggestions where I can get it?
The piece is in public domain, so it is ethical for me to email the sheet to you. Send me an email, my email address should be listed in my youtube profile. If you don't find it there, let me know here and we'll figure out how to get the sheet to you. :)

Any help is appreciated.

Where can I order the music for this song?

Thank you for putting this on You tube! I was trying to remember all of it from my chldhood days wher we heard majestic songs in church !! And also I know that my Redeemer liveth was another one I recall most fondly! Your music has been like a flower bursting into bloom today for me, as not many folks remember nor play those classics.
Wonderful Just how i remember it. I learnt it from a lovely young auburn-haired woman called Irene, who boarded with our family for a year or two. She taught me how to play it on the piano accordion.
I loved playing the bass runs!
Very nicely played. Glad to see you're back on YT , Tom! Thanks to you I now want an organ :)
Cool to hear this on a pump organ Tom!
Happy Easter, Tom!
